Old for the New

Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth! Psalm 96:1

On December 31, 2018 I found myself in two worlds. I’m trying to set up a blog to share the Williams-McMillan heritages online for young and future generations. A bag of thawing apples from the freezer took me to my old metal recipe box where I found a hand-written recipe called “Apple Torte.” The recipe and the handwriting belonged to Frieda Westerhausen–an elderly German neighbor we had in Momence when we were raising our now-grown children. I like to hang on to treasures from the past, but as I am approaching age 70, I do want to move forward and at least learn and take advantage of some of the technology of the present and future. Buried in boxes are photo albums and letters of our parents whose lives of faith will be lost to our children and grandchildren if they aren’t shared. Bringing them back alive through glimpses in my blog is one of my goals for this new year.

As a child of God, blessed with rich spiritual legacies in my family and in my husband, David's family, I want to tell "of the Lord to the coming generation; they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it." Psalm 22:30-31
